The Irish Mixed Martial Arts Association (IMMAA) is proud to launch its Road to Worlds program—your official pathway to representing Team Ireland at the 2025 IMMAF World Championships in Tbilisi, Georgia.
📅 Key Dates:
- Squad Training Begins: May 11th, 2:00–4:30pm at SBG HQ, Dublin (monthly sessions thereafter)
- IMMAA National Championships: June 14th, 15th & 22nd
- IMMAF World Championships: September 27 – October 2, 2025
About the 2025 IMMAF World Championships:
The 2025 World Championships mark the start of a three-year hosting agreement with Georgia, a nation with a deep combat sports heritage in judo, wrestling, and now MMA.
IMMAF President Kerrith Brown described the partnership as a “historic commitment that supports the global growth of MMA and shines a light on Europe as a developmental stronghold.” The event is expected to be the largest in IMMAF history, showcasing Junior and Senior athletes from around the world.
Hosted in collaboration with the Georgian Ministry of Sport, the Championships promise to be a world-class display of athleticism, culture, and competition. Georgia’s combat pedigree and rising MMA stars make this an unforgettable stage for athletes aiming for global recognition.
✅ How to Join the National Squad:
To be eligible for selection to Team Ireland, athletes must:
- ✅ Be an active IMMAA Individual Member
- ✅ Represent an IMMAA-affiliated club
- ✅ Attend monthly squad training sessions starting May 11
- ✅ Compete at the IMMAA National Championships
This pathway is designed to prepare, test, and select the best amateur MMA athletes in Ireland to compete on the international stage. All divisions will be considered in line with IMMAF’s Junior and Senior structures.
