After a full weekend of competition, international experience and incredible performances, the overall result came right down to the final bout with the teams level at 4-4 heading into the last fight.France took the final win to secure the overall result 5-4, but Team Ireland can be incredibly proud of the performances, professionalism and heart shown throughout the entire event. The French team were incredibly experienced with an average of over 15 amateur fights and current IMMAF World Champions on their roster.From medicals and weigh-ins to face-offs and fight night, the athletes represented themselves, their clubs and Ireland with pride and ferocity every step of the way. Coach Kevin Moran had this to say "We are very grateful to our gracious French hosts, only in MMA would we intertwine graciousness and cage fighting! I was very impressed and proud to corner our own Irish Team, we had seasoned IMMAF athletes to International Debutants, all acquitted themselves well against a very strong French team. I'm looking forward to continued Irish National Squad development with @liamoggriffin and future International Events such as this. I'd like to make a make a mention of Team Manager Marlene Griffin pulling out all the stops with medical admin and requirements."A huge thank you to our @frenchmmafederation @kime_academie hosts for their hospitality and for creating such a fantastic sporting atmosphere 🤝🇮🇪Well done to all athletes, coaches and supporters involved.
